Professional Biography | EXPERIENCE Jared Reynolds is the founder of JM Reynolds Law Ltd. He has spent his entire legal career in the courtroom and has represented a wide variety of clients across many different courts. Jared has focused his practice of law on fighting for individuals suffering from horrific low points in their lives. He prides himself on being a voice for the voiceless, advocating for society’s most disenfranchised communities. Jared brings extensive litigation experience, coupled with a personal touch, to each one of his clients, maximizing the relief his clients get from working with him. Jared is involved in every stage of his client’s cases, from the initial call through trial. Jared has helped recover over twelve million dollars on behalf of clients suffering from a wide variety of catastrophic injuries. He routinely helps nursing home victims and their families receive justice for injuries suffered in a facility, including bed sores, falls and subsequent fractures, malnutrition and dehydration, as well as sexual assaults and wrongful deaths. He further helps individuals and their families who have suffered from terrible injuries as a result of motor vehicle/motorcycle/trucking incidents, premises slips, trips and falls, faulty products, construction mishaps, and medical malpractice. Having spent time working on the defense side as well, Jared is uniquely equipped to know exactly what to expect from the opposing side, using this specialized knowledge to better represent his clients. EDUCATION Jared graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2015 earning a certificate in the school’s rigorous criminal litigation program. During school he gained valuable trial and pre-trial litigation experience while working as a 711 Law Clerk for the Cook County Public Defender’s Office. Jared competed with Chicago-Kent’s Moot Court Honor Society where he advocated at the highest levels and gained experience in appellate advocacy. Jared was a member of the two person National Championship Team for the Veterans Law Moot Court Competition, held in Washington D.C., where he successfully argued in front of three Federal Appellate Court Judges. Jared’s undergraduate college, the State University of New York, College at Oneonta, recognized him as the Male Scholar Athlete his graduating year, as well as a 30 Under 30 Award Recipient in 2019. VOLUNTEER WORK Jared volunteers much of my time in helping individuals, especially seniors, draft simple legal documents (such as Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, and Advanced Directives). Further, he has given presentations on the issues facing LGBTQ+ elderly persons in searching for skilled nursing care, titled “Shoved Back Into the Closet: The Plight of LGBT Elders in Nursing Homes.” These presentations have been given to senior care advocates/ombudsmen in Illinois’ Capitol, Springfield, as well as for Continuing Legal Education (CLE). Jared also has given CLE presentations relating to the topic of representing clients with diminished mental capacities, such as those suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s. ACTIVITIES
Outside of his legal endeavors, Jared is an avid runner, hiker, and camper. Jared has ran the Chicago Marathon two times, and the Boston Marathon once. Further, he has won the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services’ Race Judicata 5k twice. He also has camped and hiked in the backcountry of many National Parks including Denali, Zion, the Rocky Mountains, Death Valley and Olympic. Jared is a member of LAGBAC, The LGBTQ+ Bar Association of Chicago, where he chairs the Mentorship Program, consisting of over 120 Attorneys and law students. He also plays the drum set for the Chicago Bar Association’s Barristers Big Band. |
