Vanguard Awards Luncheon – April 17, 2013

LAGBAC is proud to be co-hosting the 2013 Vanguard Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the Standard Club with the Asian American Bar Association, Cook County Bar Association, Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois, Chicago Bar Association, and the Puerto Rican Bar Association. The Vanguard Award is given each year to those lawyers, judges and institutions that have made the law and the legal profession more accessible to and reflective of the community we serve. Among this year’s award recipients is Joey Mogul – a Chicago lawyer who has dedicated herself to representing individuals (and especially members of the LGBTIQ community) who have suffered from police and other governmental torture, abuse and misconduct in civil rights or who are accused of criminal and capital offenses. Mogul also teaches and directs the Civil Rights Clinic at DePaul University College of Law. Ms. Mogul and other Vanguard Award recipients will be honored at a reception on April 17, 2013 at 11:30 a.m., followed by the luncheon in the Grand Ballroom. Tickets for the luncheon can be purchased through the Chicago Bar Association and are $65 per person or $650 for a table of 10. For more information, contact Tamra Drees (at the CBA) at 312-554-2057.
