Please join LAGBAC on March 24 at HB Home Bistro (3404 N. Halsted) as we host an intimate dinner and conversation with Art Johnston and José (Pepe) Peña. Art and his partner Pepe are co‑owners of Sidetrack video bar in Chicago, and long-time activists on LGBT and HIV/AIDS issues. Their contributions to the LGBT political, civic, business and athletic communities in Chicago have spanned decades. In the 1980s, Art was instrumental in the lobbying efforts that led to the historic Chicago ordinance banning discrimination because of sexual orientation, and he is a founder of the Illinois Federation for Equal Rights, known today as Equality Illinois, the state’s largest advocacy group for LGBT people.
Each ticket includes a gourmet four course menu prepared by Chef Victor Morenz and unlimited wine. Tickets are $55 each, and only 12 tickets will be sold.
